Membership Information

• Usage fee each month of $25.00
• Full clubhouse, golf course, swimming pool, fitness room and tennis court privileges
• Golf privileges for spouse, children and accompanied guests
• Children have full privileges until 18 years of age or up to age 26 as long as the children are 1) full time students and 2) considered federal income tax dependents
• Men’s lockers available - annual fee
• Golf bag storage - annual fee
• Pull cart storage – annual fee
• Golf cart storage – annual fee
• $180.00 per quarter food and beverage minimum

Applying for Membership

• Applications for membership are available at the Clubhouse and upon completion, should be delivered to New Bern Golf & Country Club, 4301 Country Club Road, New Bern, NC 28562.
• The application must be completed in full. Incomplete applications will be returned to the applicant.
• Each application requires a sponsor and co-sponsor. The sponsor and co-sponsor must be active members of New Bern Golf & Country Club (for at least one year) and must sign where indicated on the application.
• The application must be signed and dated by both the applicant and spouse (if applicable).
• Applicant names will be posted on the Club bulletin board and in the Club newsletter for (30) thirty days prior to approval from the Board of Directors.
• You, your spouse and sponsor will be invited to a new applicant reception to meet the Board of Directors. Review and approval of your application for membership will occur after meeting the Board.
• A representative of New Bern Golf & Country Club will call you upon approval of your membership application.

New Bern Golf and Country Club is a private, member-owned Country Club located on the Trent River in New Bern, North Carolina. It is nestled in the neighborhood of Trent Woods just south of historical downtown. It is situated on 150 acres of prime real estate in the heart of Craven County. Over seventy-five years old, the Club offers memberships to qualifying applicants through the current memberships.

Athletic facilities include an 18-hole golf course and eight lighted tennis courts (six soft clay with below surface watering systems and two hard surface). The property features a separate tennis facility with pro shop and restrooms, fitness room with locker rooms, a separate pool facility and the full service food and beverage snack bar to complement the swimming pool, fitness room and Trent River boat dock.

The Clubhouse is about 32,000 square feet with a Casual Dining Room that seats 40, a Main Lounge seating up to 30 and a group of two small card rooms, two large dining rooms and a main Ballroom that are used privately or in combination to seat 250, overlooking the beautiful Trent River. The lower level hosts a Men’s and Women’s Card Room, and Men’s locker facilities.

New Bern Golf and Country Club offers its members a variety of services including, but not necessarily limited to, the following:

• Ballroom and dining facilities for weddings or other large receptions
• Private room facilities for smaller dinners and receptions
• Lunch and dinner services throughout the year, except for Mondays, Christmas Eve, Christmas, the day after and New Years Day
• Breakfast on Saturdays and Sunday Brunch buffet service in the Main Dining Room
• Special dinner and social events are scheduled for various holidays and other appropriate times throughout the year. These include such events as the Member-Guest Golf Tournament, Thanksgiving Day Buffet, Easter Buffet, Mother’s Day Buffet, Pasta Nights, Oyster Roasts, Gourmet Seafood Nights, formal parties, an Independence Day celebration, and gourmet wine dinners
• Member food and beverage service is available in the Main Dining Room, Lounge and Casual Dining Room unless notified in the newsletter. There is a snack bar located downstairs for golf, swimming pool and dock visits
• Golf carts are available at all times, however golfers are allowed to walk at anytime
• There are many opportuntites for children, including special children’s events scheduled at Easter and Halloween, as well as summer sports camps and a summer swim team

Famed golf course architect Ellis Maples designed our current layout in 1947 while working as Golf Course Professional and General Manager. The club itself was founded in 1920 and records indicate there were nine holes with sand greens, however there are no records to indicate the original architect. Architect Bob Moore oversaw the current greens and fairways renovation in 1990.

The golf course measures 6045 yards from the back tees with small-elevated green complexes. Green speeds run from 8 to 11 on the stimp meter with Bent Grass G2 greens. Fairways are a hybrid 419 Bermuda. Golf course superintendent Pat Connell has been at New Bern for many years and maintains the immaculate condition of our Golf Course.

The Golf Professional Staff is headed by PGA Professional Alan Ferebee. The Pro Shop and course are open year round with the exception of Mondays. The Golf staff runs numerous tournaments throughout the year ranging from Member-Guest events to Couples Twilight fun nights. Golf lessons and clinics are run throughout the year with three great sports camps during the summer months for younger players and beginners. The Golf Shop is completely stocked with the latest in apparel and equipment from such names as Titleist and Polo.
